On What's Trending, Maximilian Maeder, the youngest Olympic medallist from Singapore, returned home after a 13-hour flight from Paris. On August 9, Maeder, the youngest of six Singaporean Olympic medallists, came in third place in the men's kite competition. And coincidentally on the same day that Singapore celebrated its 59th year of independence, he received his bronze medal. Upon reaching the arrival hall, the crowd erupted in cheers saying, "Welcome Home!" Also, TikTok has sparked a new trend with the cheese and pickle sandwich, known as a pickle in a blanket. The idea was first shared by TikTok user Claire, who shared a video of her guilty pleasure snack. The video, which has been viewed 13 million times, shows Claire melting cheese on a pan, placing a full pickle on it, and wrapping the sides of the cheese onto the pickle like a blanket. US gymnast Jordan Chiles has been stripped of her Olympic gold medal after a review board challenged her score during the women's floor exercise. Chiles was initially given a score of 13.666, which put her at 5th, not making the podium. The Romanian Olympic Committee appealed to the review board, arguing that the inquiry was "untimely" and moved Chile's score back to fifth place. On What's Trending, Marvel has unveiled a new superhero, Jitter, a Singaporean teen named Sofia Yong, on Singapore's National Day. Jitter, who has the ability to hyper-focus and never slow down, is part of the Uncanny X-Men series. She can attain a skill set but not powers for up to a minute before she "crashes." Disney has announced a US$60 billion investment in theme parks and cruises over the next decade, including the biggest expansion to Magic Kingdom, a new nighttime parade called Disney Starlight, a new "Monstropolis" land at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and the Tropical Americas area at Animal Kingdom park. The expansion will include the first ride based on the film "Encanto" and take place inside the magical "Casita" where the movie's Madrigal family lives.
