In this special series by MONEY FM 89.3, we speak to three females who took the leap of faith and pursued careers in industries dominated by men. Despite the gender norms placed on their jobs, they pushed through and have even been awarded for their work.

Despite the world being more vocal regarding equality for women, the concept of women in uniform still seems foreign to many. In 2016, Koh Ee Wen is one of three female officers to be promoted to colonel, breaking boundaries of what women can or are supposed to do. Today, she is one of the higher ranking officers in the field leading men who are twice her age. She shares some of her challenges working in a male-dominated environment and how she overcame it.
