01/11/22 - Market View: Enterprise Singapore on plans to grow startups in Singapore
According to data from Enterprise Singapore or Enterprise SG, funding activities have increased exponentially to reach S$14.7 billion in 2021, growing at a pace of more than 45% per annum between 2017 and 2021.  And for the first half of this year alone, funding has reached S$8.18 billion, up 54% from the same period last year.  Despite the healthy figures, Enterprise SG warned last week of a weakening environment for startup fundraising. 31/10/22 - Market View: Will the Fed pause its rate hike cycle at 4.4% inflation, IMF's outlook for Eurozone economies
US and European economies are in focus today. In the US, markets are betting for the Federal Reserve to announce its fourth straight 75 basis points interest rate hikes.  At the same time, markets are expecting the Fed to pause its interest rate hike cycle somewhere down the road to see how the economy handles the higher rates. But can the Fed afford to do so and if it can, when will this be?  Elsewhere in Europe, the European Central Bank has raised interest rates by yet another three quarters of a point, while the IMF is expecting half of the 19 eurozone nations to head into a recession.
