20/11/24 - Morning Shot: Cooking or Cooked - What is the future of Singapore's hawker food prices & culture looking like?Hawker culture in Singapore has been inscribed as Singapore's first element on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
But, decades of culinary expertise are at risk of fading, as experienced hawkers gradually retire over the years and fewer new hawkers join the scene.
Just recently, Members of Parliament on both sides of the aisle voted in favour of an amended Progress Singapore Party motion, calling on the government to continue the government's support for hawkers and to grow Singapore’s hawker culture.

18/11/24 - Morning Shot: China's clampdown on quest for soup dumplings by 'Night Riding Army'A night-time cycling trend that started with four Chinese students riding 50km for soup dumplings blew out to a reported 100,000 to 200,000 people recently, jamming major roads, overwhelming a small tourist city and drawing the attention of authorities.
Following that, Chinese officials imposed restrictions on bike hire after the huge gathering blocked a highway between Zhengzhou and Kaifeng.
